Within its diverse landscapes, the Sunset Coast offers many different options of tours and activities, such as exploring the neighboring islands of Coiba, Cebaco or Caleta, as well as Cerro Hoya National Park and all the countless beaches, waterfalls and rivers that surround us.

WATERFALLS

There are several waterfalls in the Veraguas area and two very beautiful ones in the village of Torio. Just a 10 minute walk from the base you can access one of them. Come and venture out and explore these beautiful landscapes and lush vegetation.

HORSEBACK RIDING

If you want to go horseback riding and enjoy nature more closely, Torio is the ideal place for this sport. Its rivers and mountains will allow you to have a unique experience on horseback in the surroundings.

LEAD AN ACTIVE LIFE

SURFING

The areas surrounding Torio are slowly being recognized as a destination with incredible international surfing potential. According to experts, Morrillo beach (only a 15 minute drive away) has the second best wave in all of Panama after Santa Catalina (also in Veraguas).

The beach break in Torio, with its small waves, is an ideal destination for all fans who want to learn the sport.

Playa Reina in Mariato (also around 15 minutes away) is another great option for surfers who are at an intermediate and advanced level.

HIKING

Anywhere you look, you will be surrounded by nature at its best. Hiking enthusiasts will find an abundance of trails and tours in Veraguas.

In Torio, our internal trails connect Green Valley Zapotal to our waterfall. Our neighborhoods are interconnected through trails and green protected areas.

FISHING

Panama is known within the global sport fishing industry for its abundance of fish. In fact, legend has it that the word “Panama" comes from an indigenous word that means “abundance of fish and butterflies".

The Azuero coast of which we are a part, is home to some of the most sought-after specimens such as Marlin, Dorado and Yellowfin Tuna.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Torio and its surroundings boast great conditions for mountain biking. Hills, slopes and stunning landscapes await the adventurers and pioners who want to come and explore our area's endless possibilities for this exhilarating sport.

SUSTAINABLE LIVING

You will find that our hills are ideal for building permaculture farms, thanks to the untouched nature, wealth of water resources and predictable weather.

We encourage conscious practices in all our neighborhoods, especially with regards to healthy soil, returning surplus production to the earth and more.

ARTS AND CULTURE

There is no shortage of inspiration in and around Torio. From the stunning hills kissed by the sunset's rays, to the ever changing flow of water on our beach shores, artists will find endless ideas and raw materials from which to create.

The peace and serenity we enjoy on a daily basis also help foster the ideal environment for an artist studio.

Finally, on a cultural note, the area is also rich in folklore and local customs. Don't be surprised if you see people panning for gold at Torio's rivers and beaches. Legend has it that the area is rich, which has inspired many amateurs to attempt their luck.

FOOD LOVERS

While the restaurant scene in the Azuero Sunset Coast is in its early stages, food lovers will find that Torio is the perfect place to create and test culinary techniques. With two gardens/farms (Farmer Rey's and Coco Mambo) in our vicinity, as well as a greenhouse on the way, there are many raw ingredients with which to content a foodie's heart.

Finally, our large parcels of land are also conducive to small gardens, for those who prefer to grow what they cook. Either way, Torio's food scene is in its first stages and there's never been a better time to be a part of it!
